Emerging Themes in Bioinformatics
1-2 September, Rydges Hotel Queenstown

Bioinformatics is rapidly becoming an indispensible tool for both biological and medical discovery. This satellite meeting will explore the changing nature of bioinformatics, including examples where bioinformatics has addressed biological problems, the development of new bioinformatics tools and infrastructure, theoretical developments in bioinformatics, and bioinformatics education.

We have planned this meeting to be just as interesting to biological researchers who are users of bioinformatics, as it will be for hard-core bioinformaticians.

There are 14 invited high-profile speakers, additional talks chosen from the abstracts, and ample time for informal discussions.

Several talks will be chosen from the submitted abstracts and there will be a poster session with prizes for the best student poster and best overall poster. We encourage submissions for posters or oral presentations please email a title and abstract, with QMB in the subject line, to: bioinformatics@auckland.ac.nz.

We look forward to an enjoyable and academically stimulating meeting.

Conveners: Cristin Print, Edmund Crampin, Howard Ross, Alexei Drummond and Mik Black
